1. For Authors :

1.1. Manuscripts are submitted to a reading committee whose approval, after any modifications, is necessary for the publication of the article.

1.2. Submitting an article implies that all authors approve the manuscript.

1.3. If excerpts from other works or copyrighted material are included in the article, authors must provide written permission from the copyright holders and cite the sources of the primary publication in the article. These precautions should also be taken to avoid plagiarism.

1.4. The submitted work must comply with current laws on biomedical experimentation and the ethical recommendations of the Declaration of Helsinki ("WMA Declaration of Helsinki - Ethical Principles for Medical Research Involving Human Subjects").

1.5. The journal follows international conflict of interest practices in relation to publications subject to ICMJE rules (www.icmje.org).

1.6. Authors are permitted and encouraged to share online their articles published in JFMO (e.g., in institutional repositories or on their website), as it can lead to productive exchanges, as well as earlier and greater citation of published work.

  1. For Reviewers :

2.1. Confidentiality: Reviewers should not share any information from an assigned manuscript with outsiders, or preserve the data from an assigned manuscript.

2.2. Constructive assessment: Reviewer comments should appreciate positive aspects of the work, identify negative aspects constructively, and indicate the enhancement needed. A reviewer should explain and support his or her judgment clearly enough that Editors and Authors can understand the basis of the comments. A reviewer should not use any kind of abusive language while commenting on an article. The assigned reviewer should do judgment of each article without any bias and personal interest.

2.3. Impartiality and Integrity: Reviewer’s decision should solely depend on scientific merit, relevance to the subject and scope of the journal.

2.4. Timeliness and responsiveness: Reviewers should morally abide to provide the review comments within the stipulated time and be active enough in responding to the queries raised by the editor if any.

  1. For Editor and Editorial Board :

3.1. Editors have a responsibility to maintain the integrity of the published literature, if required, by publishing errata or corrections on the next issue.

3.2. Editors are responsible for monitoring and ensuring the fairness, timeliness, thoroughness, and civility of the peer-review editorial process.

3.3. Editors should ensure that the content or the author information present in the manuscript is legible.

3.4. They have to evaluate all manuscripts such that they fall within the scope of the journal.

 3.5. Editors are entitled to carry out decision-making in consultation with reviewers or members of the editorial board.
